One person can’t cover security, the helpdesk, vendors and planning alone, so most companies under about 70 people get more from a managed team than from one hire. When a company is ready for its own IT person, co-managed IT gives that person a team behind them.

How many employees before we need managed IT?
There’s no fixed number. Most companies feel it somewhere between 10 and 20 people, or sooner if they hold sensitive data.
